Silversea have announced exciting new plans for a fleet wide refurbishment set to cost a whopping $170 million dollars.
The refurbishment is set to begin at the end of 2016 and finish in 2017 and will mean that those travelling on world cruises in 2017 will experience ultimate luxury.
The chairman of Silversea Manfredi Lefebvre said: “We are thrilled to be moving ahead with these major refurbishments and look forward to welcoming guests aboard and sharing our unique vision of ultra-luxury cruising, both in terms of service and physical environment.”
“We pride ourselves on being the reference when it comes to ultra-luxury cruising and this investment reflects our long-term commitment in this regard toward our ships, our guests and our crew.”
On the Silver Whisper, the improvements being made include refurbished suites and bathrooms, updated public areas including new tiles for the pool and new carpets and furnishings for restaurants. The ship will also receive a new communications hub to improve internet speeds on-board and introduce brand new interactive TV’s and on demand movies in suites.
The Silver Wind will see a refurbishment in October 2016 and as well as new furnishings she will have a complete facelift on the pool deck. The design promises to make the deck area more like a luxury yacht than a cruise ship with classic teak flooring.
The Silver Discoverer will also enter dry dock in October and the restaurant will be completely remodelled to be lighter and more contemporary. The Discoverer Lounge will also be changed from a breakfast venue to a relaxing lounge to enjoy after a day’s excursions.
