About Royal Caribbean International

Royal Caribbean International is a brand with an incredible history and unlimited potential. The cruise line not only sets new standards by the size of the ships, but also by its degree of innovation. Especially the entertainment programm on their vessels is a new invention. The ships are convincing due to a variety of sport offers and leisure activities for every age group. Particularly the outdoor area offers great experiences with ice rinks or zip lines. However not only the big vessels, but also the smaller ones offer plenty options to have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. In the different restaurants you expect tasty dishes combined with an attentive service. On board, all age groups feel at home. Due to the company’s heritage a basic knowledge in English is recommended. Another thing to take into considerations is that the additional costs are higher than on German ships.

The ship

MS Majesty of the Seas is one of the older Royal Caribbean ships (built in 1991). This vessel mainly sets sail for 3- or 4-day cruises to the Bahamas.

Atmosphere on Board

Just like all the other Royal Caribbean vessels, Majesty of the Seas has got something to offer for everyone. Most guests on board are US-citizens.

A bottle of wine in the restaurant or at a bar costs from about 25 U.S. $. All services are, as usual on American vessels, subject to a service fee.

Cabins

All staterooms are furnished comfortably, the standard cabins are rather small (about 11 sqm). The comfort outside cabins (category SO) on deck 9 have got about 14.6 sqm. Outside cabins on deck 2 and 3 have got portholes, those on the higher decks have got a window. The view of the cabins in category I on deck 8 is obstructed. The Suites (35-62 sqm) and Junior Suites (16 sqm) on deck 10 have got their private balcony.

Dining

There are two main restaurants with service in two dinner seatings. There is a specialty restaurant (“Johnny Rockets”), a Fifties-style diner where you can have burgers and fast food and the pizzeria “Sorrento’s Pizza”. From the Windjammer Café you have a wonderful view over the sea while enjoying the food from the buffet. Overall, the food is very good and tasty.

Entertainment

Whether you prefer a quiet atmosphere or a party in the disco: from piano music to Broadway-style shows to disco there is a huge range of different entertainment offers.

Sport and Leisure

In the Day Spa you can indulge in massages and other beauty and wellness treatments.

For staying fit you can go to the gym, run the jogging track or play basketball. Besides, there are two pools and whirlpools on deck which invite you to swim and bathe.

Our Recommendation

MS Majesty of the Seas is a vessel with international flair operated by an American cruise line that offers a good value for money despite its age. The cuisine is delicious. The main on board language is English. You can expect a professionally organised cruise of high quality.
